Recorder Sculptures

At the end of Recorder Rewrite, I had twenty recorders of various types (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) leftover from the video. I used these recorders to create simple sculptures by dismantling, rearranging and stacking the recorders unto themselves.
I approached making these works from a child's perspective, while observing the fundamentals of sculpture such as form and balance. I think of them as anti-sculptures – lightweight, fragile and playful; not quite music and not quite art.
